Employee Spotlight - Carl Eardley, Talent Acquisition Partner
2:03

This month we head to Manchester, United Kingdom, to shine the Employee Spotlight on Carl Eardley, Talent Acquisition Partner.

Carl joined Vix a little over a month ago and has already been busy supporting our growing teams and helping us attract great talent across the business.

Read on to learn more about Carl.

How would you describe your role as Talent Acquisition Partner in your own words?

That depends on who you speak with! I aim to be a useful resource that takes some of the pain away from recruiting that hiring managers feel.

What’s been the most interesting thing you’ve learned about Vix since joining?

Despite Vix's longevity and leading position in the industry, there is still so much work to do, and markets to further expand in. It feels like an exciting time for us, especially with our new headquarters opening in Manchester.

How do you see your role helping shape the future of the company and its culture?

My role is to ensure we hire the best people for our future growth. From entry-level future stars, to experienced and knowledgeable senior-level hires, I'm motivated to find the talent that will make an impact on our business and contribute to our culture, straight away and for the long term. That's probably the most vital part of hitting our targets as an organisation.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone considering joining Vix?

Speak to as many people across the organisation as you can, even those in roles that have little relevance to yours. Build an internal network and try to understand as much of the business as you can. It speeds up the onboarding process and ensures you can hit the ground running.

When you’re not finding great talent, what do you enjoy doing outside of work?

As my colleagues in the Manchester office would agree, I’m no longer the athlete I once was! Rather than playing football like I used to, I’m now a taxi driver to my seven year old, six days a week, so that he can be the one out on the football field.
